Did You Know?

The ancient Egyptians, renowned for their innovations, were trailblazers in the art of bread-making. Over 4,000 years ago, they harnessed the power of yeast to create leavened bread, a culinary feat that significantly impacted the development of this staple food.

While it’s challenging to definitively pinpoint the absolute first use of yeast in bread, the Egyptians’ mastery of this technique and its widespread adoption highlight their significant contribution to the history of one of the world’s most beloved foods.

Myth Buster

Myth: It’s a common belief that eating carrots will significantly improve your ability to see in the dark.

Truth: Carrots contain beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. Vitamin A is crucial for maintaining good vision, especially in low-light conditions. However, eating excessive amounts of carrots won’t give you superhuman night vision. The myth gained traction during WWII when the British spread the story that their pilots had excellent night vision due to eating carrots. This was a clever ruse to hide the development of radar technology.
